YRT/Viva stops at York University will be temporarily relocated and detours will be in effect for the duration of the strike at York University, beginning November 5th. Please see below and view map for temporary stop locations and detour routing. A oneRide ticket vending and validation machine will be located at Keele & Chimneystack.

Viva orange - southbound
Viva orange southbound stops will be relocated as follows:
 South side of Steeles Ave. near Founders
 South side of Chimneystack on Keele St.

Viva orange southbound will detour as follows:
From route, left on Steeles, service stop on Steeles, right on Keele, service stop at Chimneystack, continue down Keele back to route.

Viva orange - northbound
Viva orange northbound stops will be relocated as follows:
 Southeast corner of Keele & Canarctic
 North side of Steeles at TTC stop at Founders

Viva orange northbound will detour as follows:
From route, service stop at Canarctic & Keele, left at Steeles, service stop on north side of Steeles at Founders, continue west on Steeles to Jane back to route.

Viva purple
Viva purple stops will be relocated as follows:
 South side of Chimneystack on Keele
 East side of Keele & Canarctic

Viva purple will detour as follows:
From route on Keele, service stop at Chimneystack & Keele, left on Canarctic, right on Petrolia, left on Pond to Keele back to route

Route 3 Thornhill-York U
Route 3 Thornhill-York U stops will be relocated as follows:
 South side of Chimneystack on Keele

Route 3 Thornhill-York U will detour as follows:
From route on Steeles, left on Keele, service stop at Chimneystack & Keele, left on Canarctic, right on The Pond, follow around to Keele, right on Keele, right on Steeles back to route.

Route 10 York U-Woodbridge
Route 10 York U-Woodbridge stops will be relocated as follows:
 South side of Steeles near Founders
 South side of Chimneystack on Keele

Route 10 York U-Woodbridge will detour as follows:
From route at Jane & Steeles, service stop on south side of Steeles at Founders, right on Keele, service stop at Chimneystack & Keele, left on Canarctic, left on Petrolia, left on Steeles, service TTC stop on north side of Steeles at Founders then return to route.

Route 20 Jane-Concord
Route 20 Jane-Concord stops will be relocated as follows:
 South side of Steeles near Founders
 South side of Chimneystack on Keele

Route 20 Jane-Concord will detour as follows:
From route at Jane & Steeles, service stop on south side of Steeles at Founders, right on Keele, service stop at Chimneystack & Keele, left on Canarctic, left on Petrolia, left on Steeles, service TTC stop on north side of Steeles at Founders then return to route.

Mount Albert Road Closure
September 2, 2008 until further notice
Mount Albert Road (east of Donlands to Woodbine)

YRT Route 58A will follow a detour beginning September 2nd at 6 a.m. until further notice. The closure is expected to last six to eight months. Please see below for detour routing.

YRT Route 58A Leslie North via Mt. Albert
Eastbound: Eastbound on Mt. Albert Rd., left on Donlands Ave., right on Farr Ave., continue along Woodbine, left on Mt. Albert Rd. back to route.
Westbound: Reverse eastbound detour routing.

Markham Santa Claus Parade/Festival of Lights
Saturday, November 29, 2008
Highway 7 (9th Line to Main Street), Main Street Markham (Highway 7 to Museum north of 16th)

Routes 1, 18, 41, 85, Viva purple and TTC 102D will follow a temporary detour on November 29th from 8 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (parade) and 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. (festival). Please see below for detour routing.

Viva purple
Eastbound trip will terminate at McCowan. Viva purple will turn north on Laidlaw and west on Heritage to wait for westbound trip. Viva purple will resume once the parade has dispersed. A shuttle bus will be available for Viva purple passengers. Please see below.

Route 1 Highway 7
Eastbound trip will terminate inside the parking lot at Markville Mall. Route 1 will resume once the parade has dispersed but Main Street Markham will remain closed until 10 p.m. for the Festival of lights. Route 1 will travel via Highway 7 until the festival ends at 10 p.m., then revert back to Church St. routing. A shuttle bus will be available for Route 1 passengers. Please see below.

Shuttle bus for Viva purple and Route 1 passengers
A shuttle bus will operate from Markville Mall (Route 1 bus stop at Swiss Chalet) to Markham Stouffville Hospital via Highway 7, south on Markham Road, east on 14th Avenue, north on Boxwood Bypass to 9th Line to the hospital.

A shuttle bus will operate from Markham Stouffville Hospital to Markville Mall by travelling east on Church, south on Bur Oak, west on Highway 7 to 9th Line, south on Boxwood Bypass to 14th Avenue, west to McCowan, north to Highway 7 back to the Route 1 bus stop in front of Markville Mall (Swiss Chalet).

Route 85 Rutherford/16th Avenue
Eastbound trip will terminate at Stone Mason Drive. Westbound trip will travel south on Stone Mason, west on Raymerville, north on Cairns to 16th Ave to regular routing. Route 85 eastbound passengers wising to continue further east will board a shuttle bus/Route 41 Markham Local which will travel north on Mingay, east on Bur Oak to Markham Stouffville Hospital.

Route 41 Markham Local/shuttle
Via Raymerville to Stone Mason, north on Mingay, west on Bur Oak to Church Street and reverse back during Main Street closure. Route 85 westbound passengers at Markham Stouffville Hospital will be picked up by this bus and taken to 16th Ave & Stone Mason where they will transfer to a regular Route 85 westbound bus. This vehicle will then continue to Markville Mall via regular routing.

Route 18 Bur Oak
Route 18 Bur Oak may be affected in the Highway 48 area during parade dispersal.

TTC 102D
TTC 102D will divert in both directions using Highway 7, Wootten Way N, Parkway Ave, Markham Rd (Main St) to route.

Yonge Street (from St. Johns Sideroad to Industrial Parkway)

Routes 32, 33/33A, 98 and Viva blue will follow a temporary detour on November 22nd from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Please see below for detour routing and map.

Route 32 Aurora South (north end of route, eastbound on Wellington)
Right on Temperance, right on Tyler, right on George, left on Wellington back to route.

Route 32 Aurora South (south end of route, eastbound on Murray Drive)
Right on Richardson Dr., left on Lee Gate, right on Henderson back to route.

Route 33/33A Wellington
From westbound on Wellington, left on Wells, right on Mosley, right on Gurnett, right on Wellington back to route.

Route 98 Yonge North and Viva blue
Southbound: East on St. Johns Sdrd., south on Industrial Pkwy. to Yonge and back to route.
Northbound: Reverse southbound detour routing.

Route 98 and Viva blue will follow a temporary detour on November 22nd from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. This detour will be in effect until 5:30 p.m. when Part 2 passes this area. Please see below for detour routing.

Route 98 Yonge North and Viva blue
Northbound: East on Orchard Heights, north on Old Yonge St., west on St. Johns Sideroad, north on Yonge back to route.
Southbound: Reverse northbound detour routing.
